SmartR is a reporting tool designed to run reports on the Microsoft
Exchange 5.5 and Active Directory services. It allows administrators
to easily build informative reports about objects in their directory.
Version 1.0 of SmartR focuses on distribution lists and groups allowing
the user to list all the members of a group, the owner, last modified
date and more. SmartR uses the Microsoft XML engine to provide an
open architecture for future reporting needs. SmartR is wizard based
and easy to use.

| The SmartR wizard walks you through
the report creation process. SmartR allows you to choose the objects
and fields to include in your report. You can either choose from several
"canned" reports or create your own. Once SmartR has gathered
all of the information it needs, it runs the report against the directory
and writes the results to an XML format. SmartR then transforms the
XML results into the format you requested using XSL. Since SmartR
is based on existing Internet standards, custom reports can be written
using your existing knowledge of XML and XSL. |
